Main Idea:
Americans are not eating enough vegetables. Recently, the company around America are investing millions of money for their new advertizement. One baby carrot company spent $25 million to reposition its product as junk foods. Other companies are selling crates of squash for auction at $1000 each. These efforts are for making America eat vegetable(it does not include fies). The government and health initiatiatives applied stricter dietry guidelines. The Farmers produced more crops due to better marketting of food. Despite all of these hard work, Americans are not eating Vegetables. In the recent Study, researchers concluded that only 26% of the adults in America eat vegetable 3 times or more per week. At restraunts, the salads are only ordered 5% of the time for each customers. The amount of vegetable the Americans eat is only a half of what public health official have hoped.
Conclusion:
People do know that vegetable improves health. But unlike fruits such as apples, vegetables are not easy to grab and eat. Most people doesn't even know how to cook them. There are also people who thinks vegetables are foods that tastes horrible. These Americans eat fast food with tomato ketchup to take in scarse vegitable vitamins. To combat this fact, some food companies are producing vegetable products that can be cooked in few minutes in the microwave.

  1. I find it just plain crazy that Americans will pick up the artery clogging junk food so often. I believe if the ramifications of consistantly eating junk food were more openly discussed then the youth of America would come to realize, vegetables really aren't that bad.

  2. This article really articulates the importance in eating healthy and how big of a problem this is becoming across the nation. I see it as mainly laziness, and that people are too lazy to learn how to cook vegetables and make them. It is true that often a healthier meal takes a little more time to make compared to eating fast food or just microwavable food, which is definitely not beneficial for your health. Eating healthy is not too hard and increasingly allows one to maintain what the public health officials are hoping for along with maintain a healthier diet. I hope Americans are able to learn the importance of eating vegetables and the importance of diet because it is a big impact on the nation.

  3. i think the reason that americans hve such trouble is that thay are always over worked, or are trying to do some activity instead of caring about what they want to eat. they say
"im too tired to cook, lets just get burgers". and when they go to resraunts, they want to order "something special" as a treat. i think that people simply need to find and make time to cook or lear to cook vegies. as for them not liking the food, if the parents start their children on vegis and healthy food, instead of the junk they eat, then the youth will grow to klike healthy food instead of junk.
